The JH Rose High seniors celebrating their VICTORY at the powder puff football tournament I organized this past January!!! Thanks to support of my peers, faculty, and parents, we raised over $320 to donate directly to the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain!!! #NBScholarship
This photo was taken at the powder puff football tournament that I organized at my school this year. It was a lot of fun for everyone (as you can see by this mid-celebration photo of the SENIORS' victory)! Thanks to the support of friends, teachers, and parents, this fundraiser allowed us to donate over $320 to our local Boys and Girls Club to go towards paying for new equipment and membership fees for children who can't afford membership. I am happy and proud to say that this event will be the newest annual fundraiser for the organization!
I have been the statistician for my high school's football team for three years. Prior to being the stat girl, I watched my brother play on the GL football team. Through my dedication to the program, I've learned the importance of burning the ships. "Burn the Ships" is the football team motto. The idea comes from early years in American colonization as Hernando Cortes told his men, before going into battle, that they will burn their ships--eliminating any option of retreat. Therefore, they must give it their all, and leave it all out on the battlefield.
